Communications Workers Of America Local 9423

Mobility Action September 12, 2017

Twenty-one thousand AT&T wireless workers across the nation, represented by the Communications Workers of America (CWA), are fighting for a fair contract and to protect good jobs at America's largest telecom company.  Despite bringing in over a $1 billion a month in profits, AT&T continues to squeeze employees, and customers, at a time when most Americans believe they are worse off financially than the generation before them. The last contract expired on February 11th and a rolling extension was terminated on May 1. These workers drive growth in AT&T's most profitable segment, its wireless business, providing cellular and data service to 135 million customers nationwide. They deserve a fair contract!

AT&T will be unveiling the iPhone 8 and upgrades to other products on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 10am. This will be the first event held at the Steve Jobs Theater on the Apple Campus 2. Show up to support brothers and sisters!

Date: Tuesday, September 12, 2017
Time: Gather at 9am to leaflet before the event
Location: 1 Apple Parkway, Cupertino, CA 95014 in the Steve Jobs Theater
Backup Location Marianne Ave & Infinite Loop

Workers are holding the line on the following issues:

  • Wage increases that cover rising healthcare costs and lift living standards
  • Protections for retail worker compensation preventing management from unilaterally changing commission plans to cut wages by thousands of dollars each year
  • Basic job security in the face of rampant outsourcing
  • Affordable health care for all employees, including new hires
  • A fair scheduling policy that allows workers to use their earned sick time
