CWA Local 9423 represents over 1,200 members at 11 private & public sector employers.

The Communications Workers of America represents 700,000 workers in private and public sector employment in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Pacific Rim.

CWA members work in telecommunications and information technology, the airline industry, news media, broadcast and cable television, education, health care and public service, manufacturing and other fields.

As of March 2, 2023, CWA Local 9423 was placed in receivership by order of the CWA International Executive Board. Receivership normally lasts for eighteen (18) months or less, dependent upon when the issues within the Local (both financial and non-financial) can be rectified, elections are held for new officers, and new officer training is held and completed by all the newly elected officers.
